Health Dental Life Insurance Long-Term Disability Transitional Assistance Program Pension 401k Other Benefits

Following are brief descriptions of the benefit programs the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston Benefit Trusts offer. Click on the links on the left-hand side of the table for more information. Questions regarding benefits eligibility requirements should be directed to your organization’s local Business Manager/Administrator.

Benefit Overview
Health The health plan is a Point of Service (POS) plan. Employees may visit providers in the Tufts and Caritas Christi networks for the highest level of coverage.  Employees may also receive care outside of network at a higher cost. 
Prescription Drugs Employees enrolled in the health plan automatically receive prescription drug coverage, administered by CVS/Caremark.
Dental The dental plan, administered by MetLife, encourages good dental hygiene by paying 100% for regular checkups and preventive care as well as a portion of charges for basic and restorative services.
Life Insurance The life insurance plan pays benefits in the event of the death of a covered employee. The plan also pays an additional benefit if an employee dies or suffers certain severe injuries as a result of an accident.
Long-Term Disability The long-term disability (LTD) insurance plan pays monthly benefits if an employee becomes totally disabled and unable to work.
Pension The pension plan provides retirement benefits to eligible employees of participating Catholic organizations. This Plan is frozen effective December 31, 2011.
401(k) Effective January 1, 2012, the Archdiocese of Boston 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan opened for a variety of contributions. TIAA-CREF serves as recordkeeper for the RCAB 401(k) Plan. Employees of locations participating in the 401(k) Plan may defer their own wages on a pre-tax or Roth after-tax basis into the Plan, up to the annual legal limits. The RCAB 401(k) Plan features a broad range of investment options.
